I think being "different" has become sort of a stereotype. I have first hand experience dealing with this, and seeing what the effects do to people. Take my friend's brother for example. He has some sort of mental disability that prevents him from talking, but that does nothing. He is still one of the happiest kids you will ever see.
There was a girl that went to my school, and she had disabilities because her mother made some bad choices while pregnant. She doesn't look like the other kids, and sure, she has her quirks too, but she is an amazing person. She, too, is one of the most upbeat people I've met. It's the same thing with trans-genders or bisexuals, or same-sex couples... they're all put under a stereotype!! This isn't what God planned - He didn't want the world to turn into this. He is the one who made us, who shaped us exactly like we're supposed to be. But I don't see the big problem with that! Is there a problem with that? Why should we put people under a stereotype, and bully them because they're a little bit different than we are? Nobody's perfect, the Hannah Montana song should've taught you that. I sure know I'm not. So, here's my challenge to you: This week, if you see someone getting bullied in the hallway, or you call someone a rude name, remember that we're all a little bit different. And help put a stop to the stereotypes and bullies that happen in our everyday lives. It's a simple problem- it can be fixed.
